Scars Above is a third-person shooter in which you play as Kate, an astronaut and scientist marooned on a strange alien world. It's coming to PS5 and PS4, but does not yet have a release date.
Dr Kate Ward is a member of SCAR (Sentient Contact Assessment and Response) team sent to investigate a colossal alien structure known as The Metahedron, which suddenly appeared in orbit above the earth.
Things go immediately sideways when The Metahedron transports the entire team to an unknown and bizarre planet, far from our own solar system. Suddenly alone, Kate must endeavour to survive in a strange and hostile environment.
Scars Above looks like it could be pretty solid, the Returnal similarities are quite apparent, and we are always down for an exciting sci-fi romp. We will be keeping an eye on this one, and will update you as soon as we learn more.

Having watched the trailer, I can't understand why a Returnal fan would be interested in this tbh.
Not entirely convinced with the snippets of combat, looked a bit janky, but will always give a sci fi game a try if it’s good. Hoping this is a new golden age of sci fi games.
Yep, totally this.
This trailer is really lame
The combat looks more like Outriders than Returnal and so far I'm not convinced it's going to hit the same mark as that fast flowing gameplay loop.
Good old backup generators, they never fail!
They should really make the primary generators the same as the backup ones, then they'd never need to switch over.
I’m kinda digging the look of this. Just hope it isn’t as insanely difficult as Returnal.
Given Sony elected not to put Returnal on the PS4, I'll keep an eye on this...
Looks fun, only a small connection to Returnal. I'm interested though.
@Futureshark back up generators are in case primary ones fail so pretty much never used...... Or maintained lol
Between this and Where Winds Meet (among other things), I fear a generation of imitation in gaming.
@PCPS4XB
If not maintained then perhaps they need a third option.
"Switching to back-up, back-up generators."
This could go on forever!
OK. Consider my interest piqued. I love a good sci-fi shooter. Let’s see how this plays out…..
As long as it hasn't got that silly looping system, then I'm interested. Returnal would of been amazing if it played more like Metroid.
Trailer was definitely mysterious but showed me enough to want to know more.
Looks interesting. Im a sucker for good sci fi
